A big (very big) female Martial Eagle (Polemaetus bellicosus) called Abigail. She is part of the Acacia Camp pair on the Athi Plains. She, along with Akhil, successfully raised a big female chick this year.
African Fish Eagles, Haliaeetus vocifer, are incredibly territorial raptors; and infringement by another pair on a particular bird’s territory will result in a fight.
